All about Mr. Mendez
Hello and welcome to my Bio Page! My name is Mr. Mendez. Please allow me to tell you a little about myself.
This year is my eleventh year teaching for the Adventist Educational System. My Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education is from Andrews University. I received my Teaching Certificate from the State of Michigan, as well as my North American Division of Education Teaching Certificate.
I have been married for fifteen years. My wonderful wife, Loralee, is teaching 5th grade at Columbine Elementary School.
We have two wonderful daughters. Our oldest daughter is ten years old and will be starting fifth grade this fall. Our youngest daughter is nine years old and will be starting third grade.
During my middle school years, I had a teacher who left a lasting impression on me. She had a passion for not only teaching her students but reaching her students. She motivated and inspired me as a student so much that I wanted to have a life with that type of purpose.
And now, so many years later, what am I doing? As I got older, I realized that there was no career choice better for me than teaching. This is my first year at Lighthouse SDA Christian School where I teach grades 5-8. I can't imagine being anything but an educator.
